Kent AndersonMusic Director, Traffic, Afternoon Host
Kent Anderson’s radio career encompasses five decades, beginning in 1978, when he was a high school student in Madill, Oklahoma. His association with KCSC/KUCO began as a student employee at then-CSU in 1981, and he earned a B.A. in Oral Communications in 1986. He returned as a full-time staff member in 1991, being named Program Director in 1992 and serving in that position until 2005. From 2006 to 2013 he served as off-air music programmer, and returned to full-time employment with the station as Music Director, afternoon drive announcer, and subsequently, Traffic Director, in the fall of 2013.
Kent has also worked at: KMAD, Madill, OK; KKLR, Edmond, OK; KOKC, Guthrie, OK; KTNT and WKY, Oklahoma City; and KBIA, Columbia, MO.
In addition to his radio work, Kent is an award-winning magazine journalist and author of six published novels, one of which received the Oklahoma Book Award for Fiction in 2006. He has three grown sons and lives in Norman.
Kent lists his favorite composers as Beethoven, Chopin, Dvorak, Haydn, Holst, Turlough O'Carolan, Mark O’Connor, and John Williams. He also has a passion for the intersection of traditional folk and classical music.
