and the Mozart Orchestra of New York! 


Acclaimed as an outstanding ensemble of distinguished musicians, the Mozart Orchestra of New York performs a diverse repertoire in creatively programmed concerts. Touring throughout the US this season, the 45-piece orchestra offers a program featuring Mozart’s final three symphonies;  Symphony No. 39 in E-flat Major, K543, Symphony No. 40 in g minor, K550 and Symphony No. 41 in C Major, K551 “Jupiter”  and appeared at Armstrong Auditorium on Thursday, November 19th, presented by the Armstrong International Cultural Foundation’s Performing Arts Series. 

Recognized for his moving performances, innovative programming, and extensive catalogue of recordings, American conductor Gerard Schwarz additionally serves as Music Director of the All-Star Orchestra and Eastern Music Festival in North Carolina, the Conductor Laureate of the Seattle Symphony, and Conductor Emeritus of Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival. Schwarz and has led most of the world’s major orchestras as a guest conductor, won three Emmy Awards, been nominated for fourteen Grammy Awards, and made over 350 recordings.  Created as a collaborative project between Gerard Schwarz, who serves as its Music Director, and the New York Chamber Soloists, who act as the principal players, the formation of the orchestra allows the ensemble to focus on a broadened range of repertoire.   Performance Oklahoma presents the complete concert along with remarks made by the conductor to the concert audience.
