Quatuor Danel

from Chamber Music in Oklahoma

Celebrating 56 years of bringing nationally and internationally recognized chamber music ensembles to Oklahoma City, Chamber Music in Oklahoma is a non-profit civic organization begun in 1960.  Made up of volunteers and sustained by the support of its members, audiences and a number of community entities the series offers a five-concert season held on Sundays at 4:00pm from October through April at Christ the King Catholic Church in Oklahoma City.

Founded in Belgium in 1991, Quatuor Danel offers bold concentrated interpretations of the string quartet repertoire and pursues ongoing collaborations with some of the finest contemporary composers of our time.  Appearing worldwide, the Quartet has also issued a series of ground-breaking CD recordings which have garnered them many prizes.  Making their debut tour across America just last month, they appeared as the guest ensemble presented by Chamber Music in Oklahoma on Sunday, February 21st at Christ the King Catholic Church in Oklahoma City, offering an all Russian program of works by Piotr Tchaikovsky, Mieczyslav Weinberg, Boris Tishchenko, and Dmitri Shostakovich.
