Internationally acclaimed flutist Marina Piccinini and harpist Yolanda Kondonassis, lifelong friends reunited in Oklahoma City to play Mozart's transcendent Concerto for Flute, Harp and Orchestra with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, the first of two works presented on the Sixth Classics concert of the Philharmonic's 25th Anniversary Season. 

Offered on Saturday, March 1st at the Civic Center Music Hall in downtown Oklahoma City, the program also showcased the ensemble in Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 1, The Titan.  Marina and Yolanda offer fascinating insights about the Mozart and the extraordinary commonalities they share  as world renowned virtuosas. Performance Oklahoma presents: "Mozart & Mahler" with the OKC Philharmonic on Wednesday evening, March 26th!  Tune in at 8 on Classical KCSC/KBCW !

Amphion String Quartet


On Saturday, March 29th, Performance Oklahoma presents the final editions of the 2012 OK Mozart Chamber Music Broadcast Series featuring two showcase concerts offered by the highly acclaimed and award winning Amphion String Quartet, guest young artists of the OKM International Festival.

In the first hour we’ll hear the Quartet in performances of the atmospheric Notes from a Vaulted Sky by Portland Oregon composer Bryan Johanson, the evocative String Quartet in g minor by Claude Debussy and Joaquin Turina’s touching La Oración del Torero.  And in the second and final hour of the Series celebrating chamber music performances from the 2012 Festival we’ll hear ensemble play Alban Berg’s expressive  Lyric Suite and the striking Third String Quartet by Bela Bartok. Tune in Saturday evening at 8 on KWTU Classical 88.7 Tulsa!
