The OKC Philharmonic welcomed two guests, conductor Matthew Troy and violinist Jennifer Koh to present the second concert of the season offered on Saturday, October 7th at the Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City, Jennifer Koh featured in the violin concerto of Samuel Barber, and the orchestra also performing the Overture to the Barber of Seville by Giacchino Rossini, the Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde by Richard Wagner and Paul Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis of Themes by Weber. 

Recognized for her commanding performances, delivered with dazzling virtuosity and technical assurance, Jennifer Koh is described by the New York Times as one of our most thoughtful and intense musicians. Recent awards include Musical America's 2016 Instrumentalist of the Year, winner of the Concert Artists Guild Competition, and she is a recipient of an Avery Fisher Career Grant.  Matthew Troy is the OKC Philharmonic’s Education Conductor and leads the orchestra in the Discovery and Educational Concert series.  He has also served as associate conductor for the Winston-Salem Symphony and conducted a number of American orchestras including the Rochester Philharmonic, the Portland Symphony and the Greensboro symphony and is currently the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Piedmont Wind Symphony.
