Richard Wagner's Parsifal has its first outing under the baton of Yannick Nézet-Séguin this season. Klaus Florian Vogt and Evelyn Herlitzius bring their European roles to the Met as Parsifal and Kundry.

Donizetti: L'Elisir d'amore. 11 a.m. start time

Donizetti:  L'Elisir d'amore.  11 a.m. start time
Donizetti's romantic comedy features Pretty Yende and Matthew Polenzani as Adina and Nemorino, with Ildebrando d'Arcangelo as Dr. Dulcamara. The performance begins one hour early, at 11 a.m. central time.

Giuseppe Verdi:  Il Trovatore.  February 3
A truly convoluted tale of love and revenge has returned to the Met, with Yonghoon Lee as the title character Manrico, Jennifer Rowley as his true love Leonora, Quinn Kelsey as the Count di Luna, and Anita Rachvelishvili as the sometimes insane gypsy who has raised Manrico as her own child.

Giacomo Puccini:  Tosca.  January 27
Puccini's "shabby little shocker" has returned with Sonya Yoncheva and Vittorio Grigolo as the lovers and Zeljko Lucic as Baron Scarpia. This matinee is the last performance now; it returns to the Met in April and May with Anna Netrebko and Marcello Alvarez as Floria Tosca and Mario Cavaradossi.

Jules Massenet: Thais. January 20

Jules Massenet:  Thais.  January 20
Based on the novel by Anatole France, the courtesan of ancient Alexandria, Thais, is saved by the Cenobite monk Athanael, who loses his religion for love of Thais, who dies in his arms. Ailyn Perez sings the title role with Gerald Finley as the monk. This is an archived performance from last November.

Mascagni: Cavalleria Rusticana, and Leoncavallo: Pagliacci. January 13

Mascagni:  Cavalleria Rusticana, and Leoncavallo:  Pagliacci.  January 13
Opera's most famous double bill opened January 8th for this year's run, with tenor Roberto Alagna singing in both operas, Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana, and Canio in Pagliacci.

Humperdinck: Hansel und Gretel

Humperdinck:  Hansel und Gretel
Gerhard Siegel is The Witch with Tara Erraught and Lisette Oropeso as Hansel and Gretel in this final performance of the English-language holiday favorite for this season.
