Christine Goerke has become the premiere Elektra of our time. She appears with Elza van den Heever as her sister Chrystothemis, Michaela Schuster as her mother Klytaemnestra, and Mikhail Petrenko as her brother Orest, in this presentation of the greatest of all disfunctional families. The rest of the afternoon will be the Spring Fund Drive for opera and vocal music.

Rossini: Semiramide. March 10, also in HD.

Rossini: Semiramide. March 10, also in HD.
Rossini's Semiramide, the last of his opera seria, is seldom performed because of the problems of finding a cast. It requires a soprano, mezzo, tenor, and bass with extreme agility of voice and good acting skills. Piecutred is Elizabeth Deshong, this year's Arsace. Angela Meade, Javier Camarena, and Ildur Abdrazakov are Semiramide, Idreno, and Assur. This radio performance can also be seen on the wide screen in HD.
