Perez and Finley in Thais

The Cenobite monk Athanael dreams of saving the soul of the courtesan Thais.  He returns from the camp in the desert to Alexandria, where Thais is at the height of her fame and beauty and beginning to worry about losing her beauty.  During the famous violin solo Meditation, she decides to go with Athanael.  Their travel to the convent of Mother Albine nearly kills her.  Athanael goes back to the monks, but dreams of Thais and returns to the abbey just in time to have Thais die in his arms, seeing God, while he is in despair.  Gerald Finley is Athanael, and Ailyn Perez is the title character.
